This is an awesome talk by Naval on what to do before you raise money. I know I say this all the time, but this may be his best talk yet.
This talk is part of a course on Udemy, which lets people “take and build online courses on any subject.” They asked Naval to teach part of a paid course called Raising Capital for Startups. We agreed, as long as they let us give away the part we taught for free.
You can buy the full course from Udemy for $29 here. Use promo code VentureHacks to get $10 off.

I love the Moiré pattern of your shirt 😉
Oops 🙂 Last time I wear a striped shirt on camera.
Interesting presentation. I’m new to Udemy and after looking at the site, it seems like they have pretty good courses. Can anyone recommend some good ones they’ve tried?
Great talk. Studio/indie film analogy is spot on.
Is there an iOS-friendly copy on YouTube or Vimeo that doesn’t require Flash?
Thanks for all the feedback! I’m co-founder of Udemy and am thrilled by the response for this course.
@Andrew, unfortunately, we are not iOS friendly yet but will be working on that for the future.

@Andrew – We don’t unfortunately have an iOS-friendly version of Udemy… It will probably be until Q1 2011.
Great talk and especially helpful to see the deck at the same time.
Sounds obvious but haven’t seen the combination work quite like this before.
What was used to capture the talk?
We built this feature as part of Udemy. We call it a mashup (presentation/video mashup).
The feature is currently in private beta, but will eventually be available for anyone to use.
