Pre-entrepreneur: 4D blood flow simulation models; UNIX admin; Cray YMP C90, and TMC CM-5 code fixer; natural language DB interface; network engineer; VP of a practice of over 60 consultants for a public company—and then the bug bit me.
In January 2000, I co-founded a company to bring information about educational opportunities to people. What we actually built was a leading lead-feed network in the education space. Education.org (PWP, LLC) was purchased by Monster.com in 2006.
A year or so later, I turned down better position with Monster, as it would have moved us to Chicago (brr). Instead, lady providence struck again; I joined BrightQube, Inc. I now have built and am building the platform upon which the future defacto stock media marketplace will live.
(I also like be involved with and help other fledgling companies that have the passion, talent and dedication to succeed)
In a fragmented industry, trying to re-find itself as radical market pressures are changing the old and guarded world of stock photography, a vacuum exists that begs for an efficient truly free market place.
BrightQube is that market place. Beginning with inventory from ALL the respected high-end agencies, as well as microstock images, our platform and radical photo finding UI have proven a solid base upon which the open visual media marketplace will thrive.
Call it eBay for Photography, or Flickr with a cash register, or the Google Maps of image buying – they all apply.
... this is gonna be fun!
Provider of education choice information to would-be students, and provider of qualified leads to institutions that would be educators of said students. “Wide and Deep” – our strategy of managing a portfolio of over 20,000 education related domain names, slowed the competition for a long while, and provided the opportunity to cherry-pick our verticals.
The verticals built out with respected, useful and timely content, drew prospects ready to “sign up”. We enjoyed the highest conversion rate for leads in the industry at the time. I build the technology upon which the vision was realized.
Smart and well rounded developer/entrepreneur. Check out his new gig.
