I got sucked into 2.0 when I joined AdBrite in their early days at their Stillman Street office. After a few years evangelizing ad networks to the ad industry, I moved to New York to figure out how to monetize Stage6, DivX’s high-res video sharing platform, and began writing for VentureBeat.
Interfacing between two starkly different cultures (the Valley and Madison Avenue; throw Hollywood in there to triangulate) I realized a lot of the roadblocks as our industries collide are cultural and not technological.
After a stint consulting between digital media start-ups and the ad industry, I have joined with Mike Paolucci (early 247 Real Media founder, advisor to DFJ Gotham) to start a new company in New York. We are looking for our lead engineer. Someone incisive and phenomenal. Send leads to julieruvolo at gmail.
